Kubo Inventory allows you to track and manage dental implants, bone grafts, membranes, biologics and abutments. Each of these items are categorized as class II medical devices and are required by the FDA to have barcodes with information associated with the barcodes.ย
Other products that are not medical devices have barcodes similar to the products noted above; however, there is no consistency throughout the industry as it is not required by the FDA. So, for example, while some impression coping manufacturers may have barcodes on their boxes, not all do so we do not allow scanning of impression copings.ย
In addition it should be noted that class II medical devices are single use products. So you scan the product in, and you scan it out when it is used or removed. However, other products like impression copings get used and reused, making tracking from the original barcode difficult.
